Luke 16:13,15;1 Cor10:3,4,5,6,21,22,2331; 2cor 5:16-18; Rom 8:9,10;James1:8;4:4-10; 2Cor 6:14-17; Eph 5:8-16; Gal 5:13,14,16,17; 6:14-17; 2cor5:14-18 No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon..... The riches that this world has to offer.
God knoweth our hearts for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God. 1cor 10:3 Israel did all eat the same spiritual meat; And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.
But with many of them God was not well pleased: Having an evil heart of unbelief, departing from the living God. Being overthrown in the wilderness through the deceitfulness of sin.
Have we been over thrown through the deceitfulness of sin?
For these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted. The evil things of Egypt The house of bondage, the body of death from wince we were delivered through the resurrection of the body of Christ.
Now one might say, it was just food and drink. But I tell you Food and drink, what we take in to give ourselves nutrition is what we are made of and what we become.
So I ask Are we feeding our flesh or are we feeding the Spirit?
But God Hath said Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more. For Ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
So if this is true why are we still feeding the flesh with the things of this world? Are we looking to resuscitate that old man, to give life to Him that is dead?.
For God hath said, If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. And all things are of God. Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God; The Glory of God..... His Righteousness, The Word, The Body of Christ. Christ in you, you in Christ the Hope of Glory. Whatsoever we are doing.... are we feeding our new Spiritual bodies ? Or are we feeding Both, Trying to give life to the flesh?
Israel Had joined themselves to Baal Pe'or at the time that they walk in the wilderness of Sin They were partaking of the spiritual food of God , but snacking on the food of this world. Baal = Husband, Master. Peor = A Yawn opened wide, a Gap in a mountain. Folks they were Espoused to Another Husband, The master of that deep spiritual sleepiness that is of and in this world. Of Such God says stay away.
Neither be ye idolaters, a form or appearance that does not give glory to God, (His Righteousness) as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, Partaking of the Lords Spiritual food, But rose up to play as a child sporting around wasting time doing the things we use to. Feeding the flesh not sharing in God’s Glory, giving Glory to Him. Glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's. Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
Let us not commit fornication, joining ourselves to the things of this world as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.
Let us not tempt Christ by taking the things of this world into His flesh, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of the serpents, destroyed of their own desires and were destroyed of the destroyer. Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, I don’t like spiritual things all the time I want the worldliness too why can’t I watch the things that I watch on TV. Why can’t I listen to the same music I listen when I was in the flesh? But my whole life I served my pride Glorifying my flesh in my commitment to playing ball and taking care to sculpt this body to glorify me. My education to better myself in this world is what matters . I will read my Bible and pray later. Praise, prayer and spiritual songs are for church, prayer meeting, and other church gatherings not for when we get together for social events. What is the fun in that all the time.
Do we Blaspheme Holy Ghost, God's Spirit that dwells in us....Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy? Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; A double minded man is unstable in all his ways. Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship fornication with the world and the things that are in the world is spiritual Adultery and is at enmity with God? Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world and the things that are in the world is the enemy of God. Purify your hearts, ye double minded. Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.
Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils.
What is at our table? What are we eating. Are we eating to glorify the Flesh, grieving the Holy Spirit of God. Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he? All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.
Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God:
Even as I please all men in all things, not seeking mine own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved. Wherefore, if my meat make my brother to offend, I will eat no flesh while the world standeth, lest I make my brother to offend.
What meat are we sitting at the tables of others. Are we offending the little ones which believe in Him. Causing them sin by our sin Leading an example of the world by the things that we are "attempting to" carrying in from the prince of this world into the body Of Christ. God says that it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. Than that we cause our brothers and sisters to fall.
For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)
Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
But rather reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret. But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light. Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord
For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
But God forbid that we should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto us, and we unto the world. Have we been crusified unto the world and the world unto us , a new creature? Or are we still desiring the things of this world and the entertainment that it offers.
